Meet Magenta: Content Producer Mimi Brodt
Q: Who are you, and what do you do here at Magenta?
A: My name is Mimi Brodt and I’m a Content Producer.
Q: And what led you to work for Magenta? What about this environment in particular have you enjoyed?
A: The flexible work environment, and I like that Magenta is going to expand the variety of industries and clients we’ll be able to work with.
Q: How long have you been interested in your field, and what sparked that interest?
A: After interning at a couple of television stations in college, I decided that a career in broadcasting wasn’t for me. I chose English Composition as my major because I knew that regardless of my career path, I needed to know how to write and communicate well.
Q: What’s your favorite thing you get to do at work?
A: I enjoy collaborating with others on projects.
Q: What fuels your workday? What do you use to get through the day?
I eat 14 almonds every day, around 10 o’clock. It’s a high protein snack that keeps me from having a bagel on “Bagel Wednesdays” and helps me stay out of the candy bowl.
Q: What are your professional goals this year?
A: Continuing to broaden the types of work I do to include new types of projects.
Q: Are you a morning person or a night owl?
A: Morning, morning, morning. I was a swimmer in high school and college and we used to have to be in the pool by 5:30 a.m. I guess it conditioned me to be a morning person.
Q: If you could have anyone from today or the past as a dinner guest, who would you choose and why?
A: This may not be a very original answer, but I’d want to have dinner with Oprah Winfrey. She seems to know everybody and a little bit about everything and would be a fascinating person to talk to.
Q: If you had a superpower, what would it be?
A: My superpower would be to have an unbelievably fast metabolism so I could eat literally anything I want, whenever I want.
Q: If you could completely devote yourself to mastering any skill, what would it be?
A: I’ve always wanted to learn how to weld. I know nothing about it, not have I ever even seen it done in person. But I find artwork made out of metal very interesting and I’ve always thought that if I learned how to weld, I could miraculously become artistic!
Q: What’s your favorite restaurant in Indianapolis or Fishers?
A: I don’t know about favorite restaurant, but I think I could eat pizza every day and never get tired of it.
Q: What’s your go-to when you want the highest of quality pizza?
A: I like Rockstone on Allisonville, but there aren’t too many pizzas I don’t like – hence the need for the high metabolism superpower!
Q: Where’s your favorite place to go in town on a sunny summer day?
A: I like hiking the trails at Flatfork Park in Fishers.
Q: When you’ve got friends and family visiting from out of town, where do you take them to show off where you live?
A: It would seem like these days it would have to be IKEA and Topgolf, but downtown Fishers has several cool boutiques and concerts.
Q: What’s your favorite piece of media? What do you tell people is your favorite piece of media, and what’s your guilty pleasure?
A: We watch a lot of sports at our house. I also enjoy several sitcoms including The Middle, Big Bang Theory and Mom.
